Who we are
Tuppence ("the app", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Ginger Software Development Services Limited, registered at 48 Athlumney Castle, Navan, County Meath C15 YA43, Ireland.
For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Ginger Software Development Services Limited is the data controller.

What data we collect and why
Account data
When you create a Tuppence account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (or display name)
- Password (stored as a hashed value — we never store your plain-text password)
Lawful basis: Contract — this data is necessary to provide your account.
Household and partner data
Tuppence is designed for two people to share a household. When you use the app, we store:
- Household profile information you enter
- Service records, reminders, and notes you create
- Shared data visible to your linked partner
You control what you enter. Do not enter sensitive personal information beyond what the app requires.
Lawful basis: Contract.
Payment data
When you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Mollie. We do not store your card details. We receive from Mollie:
- Subscription status
- Transaction reference
- Billing email address

Usage and analytics data
We use StatCounter to collect anonymised analytics about how visitors use our website. This includes pages visited, referral sources, and approximate location (country/region). StatCounter does not receive your name or email address.
Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (improving our service).
Communications
If you contact us by email or through an in-app form, we retain that correspondence to respond to your query and improve our support.

How long we keep your data

Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Mollie — payment processing
- StatCounter — anonymised website analytics
- Hetzner — infrastructure (data stored within the EEA)
We may disclose data if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.
Your rights under GDPR
As a data subject in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

Automated decision-making
Tuppence does not use automated decision-making or profiling in ways that produce legal or significant effects on you.

Tuppence is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC):
